This is indeed a problem in our industry, where there are too few women and too many events. But I rarely run into situations that feel like casual-sex vibes. Here are a few things I do that might help:
> A firm handshake, a simple and direct self-introduction. I make sure people see right away that I’m not someone to mess with. I usually keep a serious expression, very much in “work mode,” so everyone understands I’m here for business, not anything else. I leave zero room for imagination.
> And walk away quickly when needed. The only time I didn’t follow my usual approach and was too friendly, someone who didn’t know who I was started flirting. They claimed they were male models (obviously they were founders of some asset-management firm), then started saying sleazy things and asked if I was a model too. I told them I was a CEO, wished them good luck finding a model here, and immediately walked off without giving them a single extra second.

Met two big whales in person in the last week.
Whale A: a major Bitcoin miner, only deploys large capital once a year, right around the miner shutdown price. One trade covers several years of income.
Whale B: a high-leverage day trader with massive size, gets liquidated often but also prints huge profits.
Funny how this market lets completely opposite strategies win, as long as you know your edge.

Advice to women in their 20s:
1. Make your own money and keep it. Don’t depend on a man. Independence isn’t a personality trait, it’s a power source.
2. Don’t chase love, chase purpose. The right person won’t slow you down, they’ll fuel you.
3. Stop being nice, break the rules. Nice is forgettable. Be kind, be fair, but don’t soften yourself just to be liked.
4. Keep your guard up. Not everyone’s heart is as clean as yours.
5. Don’t overthink, move! Perfect can wait, progress can’t.
6. If you’re beautiful, own it, just don’t rely on it.
7. Have kids later, if ever. Live your life before you raise someone else’s.
8. The world isn’t fair. Accept it, and get stronger instead of bitter.
9. Take care of your body. Your 30s will thank your 20s.
10. And remember, grace outlives beauty. See the world, touch art, learn deeply. Depth is the most magnetic thing you’ll ever wear.
