I'm clearly seeing the rise of two specific economies in the age of AI agent takeover. 1/ Experience economy. E.g.: a barber shop where you could talk to the barber while having a haircut which lasts for an hour // getting back to the good old times. Another e.g.: a tailor shop where you could become part of the journey of making clothes, and you get real-time updates on your garment, which helps you with delaying gratification. The whole core idea behind the experience economy is to delay your gratification, keep you excited, and give you an emotionally connected experience. Digital detox experiences would eventually become one of the top-selling segments in the experience economy, along with mountain trekking, cycling, nature walks, jamming, cooking, and many more such experiences. The experience economy will eventually find better vibes; it would curate better experiences using new ideas from AI, and it would eventually allow humans to experience life in a better way. Because some of those humans will have nothing to do, if agents are making money for them, they would be free to travel and spend money on all kinds of experiences. So, it's a no-brainer that the experience economy will boom. 2/ Gift economy Not everyone will shine in the agentic age. Many will have a hard time progressing in the AI age. Many will have a hard time taking care of basic survival, too. The gift economy will help them get back on track. AI will help some people go from rags to riches, and I believe some of them will also have empathy left for other humans - especially those who lost everything to AI progress. Those people with good hearts will eventually fund a lot of great initiatives which will benefit more and more people with resources for survival. I'm really seeing the possibility where more people will engage in social service on their own, not through any NGO; they'll gift whatever they could to lift people up from their bad times. In the gift economy, your value will be decided based on how many people you've helped. Blockchain could even be used here to mint SBTs for such contributions to society. These SBTs will become status symbols in a large section of society as AI agents taking over will make us humans more united than ever. Humanity and spirituality both will make a grand return. A shift from a transactional world to a relational one will happen.
