Upnishad discussed the idea of sacrificing of breath. The pause between each breath cycle is counted as sacrifice . Also animal sacrifice makes more sense when the animal is raised as a family member, that makes the whole act as exterme emotional event which could lead to spiritual awakening of the people who were sharing an emotional bond with the animal.. sadly that’s not case now, it’s more transactional people buy and they offer them. This is crime against innocents. Most of the Hindu rituals are simply mechanical actions, very very few put meaning into them.. pashubali is one of the biggest example where literally everyone is doing it for sake of doing .. they should better align with upnishad teachings and start taking count on breaths, learn to meditate on it with or without tools like mantra that’s their call but they should sacrifice breath and that would eventually help their soul evolved in few years if they keep showing right intent, putting efforts without seeking any kind of material or spiritual desires.
