It’s true, Zora’s pivots have been repeatedly DOA because they don’t understand post-authorship and cling to the dream of “fairly crediting creators” “artist royalties” etc. The future model of artistic production is in curating aesthetic and symbolic systems that would best have impact when they are adopted as signifiers to tribal creative collectives; and speculative futures on content needs to be thought about as prediction markets on influencers, not tokens on individual content; the current “credit to creators” model is clearly incorrect when there is no longer individual creators or individual production. Ted Nelson made the same wrong bet with Xanadu’s credit based royalties ledger idea, but they have no excuse for making it today. The answers are obvious if you know where to look and can make correct predictions on the general trends of technology.
