I bought $SUI quite a while back, but I've never really sat down and organized my thoughts on why I bought it. This post serves two purposes: it's a look back at my thought process when I bought in, and it's also me sharing whether or not I think it's still a good hold. Also, $SUI has already gone up a fair bit, and a lot of people who bought in early are sitting on some decent profits. So, let's be careful about FOMO-ing in. 1⃣ Discovering $SUI $SUI first came across my radar in the early days of September, I started going through all the charts that were outperforming $BTC. I have a basic rule: buy the strong coins, the strong keep getting stronger. The projects that popped up on my screen were: $AVAX $SUI $APTOS $AAVE $HNT $STRK $ARB $ORDI $MANA It looked like a lot at first, but with a quick sort, it was clear they mostly fell into a few categories: public chains, BTC ecosystem, and DeFi. We all knew the DEFI narrative was hot, especially with AAVE's buyback plan. So, I really wanted to dig into what was happening with $SUI and $AVAX. Turns out, $SUI had a bunch of positive news coming out, which is what ultimately led me to buy. 2⃣️ Why I bought The biggest thing was Sui's partnership with Grayscale Investments. They launched the Grayscale Sui Trust in August 2024. This lets qualified investors get exposure to Sui without having to directly hold the $SUI token. On top of that, SUI was making moves on other fronts too: Partnering with Alibaba Cloud and Google Cloud to boost security, scalability. Also the famous Web3 tools (Brave New Coin) BytePlus (part of ByteDance) is working with Sui, focusing on AI algorithms for games and SocialFi projects. 3⃣️ Hype train in sync With all this good news on the fundamentals side, SUI's Twitter presence was also blowing up. From influencers in the West to those in the East, more and more people were talking about it, including me writing this right now. I don't think that's a coincidence. 4⃣️ The final piece I recently heard rumors of a pretty big OTC deal that SUI did. If that's true, then I think all the pieces are on the table.
