true meditation isn’t supposed to be a relaxed state. it’s an intensely active one. what most people are seeking through meditation is actually a kind of numbness - and that’s completely off track. you can’t access the true state of meditation without first purifying your mind. and that purification doesn’t come from sitting quietly. it comes through selfless action, devotion, and inner discipline. yes, it takes time. so the next time you think about meditation, don’t look at it as a relaxation tool. if you feel relaxed, it’s likely because of the placebo effect created by how meditation is portrayed globally. but that’s not meditation - not in its true form. you can call it a mindfulness exercise if you want, but don’t confuse it with true meditation.
