I've always felt I'm a better bear market investor than a bull market investor. Bull markets are hard. What is there to say? "Everything is going up and it will keep going up forever!" The way to win in a bull market is to sell when everyone around you is screaming to never sell anything. Bear markets, in a sense, are simpler. The noise dies down. The tourists leave. You win in a bear market by not letting the dreary mood deter you, by being patient, and by never becoming a forced seller. Simply put, you win in a bear market by believing in the future when nobody else does.
