Bill Ackman disclosed buying 12.7 million shares of $HTZ Hertz. Did someone follow the elevated stock volume with options? Yes. $HTZ gets very little options volume. However on April 11th someone decided to get directional calls, at the $4.5 and $6 calls for 30 days (the closest expiry). These calls were bought at the ask, all at once. This was MOST of the volume, and these traders held their positions as $HTZ fell. Some traders followed it on April 11th, like @TheBronxViking, and the trade itself went for 1200% return. I don't know if anyone knew of the $HTZ Hertz buy, but the unusual activity shows conviction in the trader.
