The first phase of in-person ceasefire talks between the United States and Iran have concluded in Pakistan’s capital, sources close to the mediation tell Al Jazeera.
The sources say both sides are exchanging written texts aimed at confirming that they’re on the same page on agreements reached in Islamabad – the first direct talks between Washington and Tehran since the 1979 Islamic revolution.
