I've been following the @SentientAGI for a while, talked to @Anitahityou @0xsachi early on, been digging into AI research myself, but life got in the way and I never wrote the deep dive.
Then bam, TGE hits fast.
Quick tl;dr for those who haven't been paying attention:
Sentient is trying to build an open source AI network that actually challenges the closed giants like OpenAI.
You don't need to know wut their NeurIPS paper or wut is AI benchmarks, the core signal is simple, in several meaningful evals, their stuff is already beating or matching frontier closed models from OpenAI.
That's rare in pure open source land. Think a community squad upsetting an NBA roster.
and ROMA repo hit ~2.8k stars fast. GitHub doesn't fake.
Compare to $TAO , currently the crypto AI valuation king, Sentient sits at roughly 7–8% of TAO’s FDV while showing comparable early dev traction.
That's interesting if you believe open source + crypto incentives can compound into something Eth like for AGI infra.
Open AGI is a long and bumpy journey.
But if you're long both AI and crypto to align incentives at scale, this feels like one of the higher conviction Eth level bet in the open AI + onchain economy nexus.
Small position, not all in. Expect volatility (~3 year horizon, imo).
Short term pumps/dumps are noise; the question is whether decentralized + open can actually out innovate closed in the long game.
