Notes
"Amazon’s, $AMZN, robotics team is working towards automating 75 percent of the company’s entire operations, and expects to ditch 160,000 US roles that would otherwise be needed by 2027. This would save about 30 cents on every item that Amazon warehouses and delivers to customers, with automation efforts expected to save the company $12.6 billion from 2025 to 2027," per the Verge

$AMZN - AMAZON’S SWITCH TO ROBOTS OVER HUMAN WAREHOUSE EMPLOYEES WILL SAVE IT UP TO $4 BILLION A YEAR, MORGAN STANLEY SAYS
Morgan Stanley estimates this could generate $2–4B in annual savings by 2027, as robots cut fulfillment costs 20–40% per order. CEO Andy Jassy noted that Amazon’s most advanced robotic warehouse already reduced costs by ~25%, and over 1 million robots are currently improving efficiency and delivery times.
The report suggests automation could eliminate 160,000 U.S. jobs, potentially saving ~$10B if next-gen warehouses scale faster. Analysts remain bullish on Amazon, citing AWS growth, retail, and AI-driven robotics efficiencies.
